Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Eat Mindfully
Mindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How does your eating experience differ when practicing mindfulness?

When I eat without distractions, I am aware of different things. I am more in touch with my body, which lets me know if I am full, preventing food waste. I am aware of the different people around me, what they are eating, and many other things.

What are some more "R's" you could add to your daily practice to reduce your waste?

Although I already recycle, I could be more conscious of what I am recycling and advocate and inspire other people to do the same. I could also reuse more, however throughout doing this challenge I have reused more. For example today I took home a plastic container a restaurant gave me because I knew I could use it in my home.

How does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet?

Eating more fruits and vegetables affects me in a positive way because it makes me feel healthier and it helps me fuel up better than meat or a processed food would. Less meat is better for the planet because the production of meat causes lots of CO2 to be released into the atmosphere

Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?

People in richer countries have more access to luxuries like well-fed animals/meat that they can consume. In other places, they do not have the means to raise animals, they often garden and grow plants to eat instead since it is more cost-effective. Eating more meat affects our bodies because it provides us with the protein we need to thrive, eating red meat can raise your blood pressure. The production of raising animals is very negative to the health of the earth, it raises carbon levels and greenhouse house gases. Eating more meat affects other people because of the issues of production and its effects on the environment, it can lead to problems for everyone else due to the significant bad effects.
