Quincy Roberts 5/06/2021 5:10 PMHas anyone noticed an increase in “beyond” meat options at restaurants since we started talking about this? I said to myself I wanted to increase the amount of meals I eat without meat and thought eating out would be a challenge but even Pizza Hut is in on it and McDonalds is about to be. Chipotle has options. Burger King, Red Robin, Silver Diner, Panera, Starbucks. It’s not difficulty to do now...pretty interesting...SEE I’m teaching you all CUTTING EDGE stuff here!!! ;)-

Reflection QuestionFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Smaller PortionsWhile dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?
Quincy Roberts 2/13/2021 11:59 AMHealth! It makes me pay attention to how much I eat so I don’t overeat. This is a hard one cause I usually eat large portions. -
Quincy Roberts 2/12/2021 11:21 AMJust a bagel and cereal today for breakfast. I may try to replace another meal as well... -
Reflection QuestionFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?
Quincy Roberts 2/11/2021 6:41 AMIn my opinion, since people in richer countries have more money to spend, and meat products are advertised more, people have more choice on what they will eat. That leads them to choose what they think will be more filling and that's what is presented as the best quality, most filling type of meal. I know I was raised to think that meat=protein and you need that to live. The quality of the meat can definitely affect your health and the health of others in a negative way if you lack variety in your diet. If animals aren't raised responsibly it can support companies that do not care for the environment with their practices. -
Quincy Roberts 2/11/2021 6:35 AMI will admit that I have a turkey sandwich for lunch. It's organic meat though and the producers say they take care of the animals in a humane way that allows them to graze. Hopefully they are telling the truth... -
