  • Reflection Question
    Transportation Advocate For Greener Vehicles
How does advocating for green vehicles in your community connect to your values? How might you be able to get others involved in advocating for the shift to fuel-efficient vehicles?

It might connect to your values because one of your values might be to keep the earth clean. And, you could explain to people how it is important to make the switch as the people making the switch care about the earth.
  • Reflection Question
Transportation Research and Consider Switching to a Hybrid or Electric Vehicle
Reducing (or eliminating) exhaust emissions and improving public health are two benefits of green vehicles. What other motivators inspire you to consider switching to a more fuel-efficient vehicle?

The cost of fuel is also a big problem for lots of people, and as we start pumping more and more oil out of the earth, oil will become more expensive because we will start running out. Also, electric cars will soon be cheaper, and they are fast. Electric engines produce a lot of torque, and instantly, so off the line they are really fast. They also have newer technology and notice how the electric companies are the ones with the best working autopilot systems.
  • Reflection Question
Transportation Express My Support For Walkable Cities
How could better walking infrastructure make your city both more enjoyable and more equitable?

    Shark Mateo's avatar
    Shark Mateo 2/12/2021 6:05 AM
Better walking infrastructure could make my city more enjoyable because it could cause less traffic, less sound of cars passing by, the number of pedestrians getting hit by cars would probably be lowered if there were roads specifically for walking, and if you could get fewer drivers on the road. It would also make a city seem more lively if there are more people walking around with family and friends.
  • Reflection Question
    Industry Offset for climate justice
What did you learn from the resources? What did you discover from the offset calculator?

    Shark Mateo's avatar
    Shark Mateo 2/10/2021 9:46 AM
I learned that the resources are important and that the offset calculator is really accurate.
  • Reflection Question
Industry Invite a friend to calculate the carbon footprint of their household
What kinds of discussions did you have, or are you hoping to have with friends about climate change?

    Shark Mateo's avatar
    Shark Mateo 2/10/2021 9:45 AM
I hope we can talk about how we can lose a lot of the things that we care about if we do not stop and help, for example, if you like the ocean, it could be dirty and full of plastic and toxic if we don't do anything.
  • Reflection Question
    Land Sinks Plant Trees
How is planting trees good for your mental, physical, and spiritual health?

    Shark Mateo's avatar
    Shark Mateo 2/10/2021 9:44 AM
It is good for your physical health because it is physical activity, it is good for your mental health because it lets your mind know that you are doing a good thing. Same for your spiritual health

  • Reflection Question

You can tell them that they will be rated lower if they are producing more CO2 than the companies that are up against them.

It hasn't changed much but I take the bus to school every day and I used to not do that. It has made me think that taking the bus isn't a bad thing. It is just as comfortable, and it is not like you don't have any personal space.
