    HELLO UU DD 2021!

I've been out of touch for the last 2 weeks because I was helping the Indigenous call to raise awareness and Stop Line 3 in brutally hot Northern Minnesota - More on that later!  In the meantime, check out all the press, and write to your reps because just like Keystone - this pipeline does nothing for the US and contributes massively to future global warming if constructed.

There is a bug in the Action Count Update on the web page so I will also be getting our status sending more on that later.

    Keep up the good work!

    Wednesday, 2 June 2021 – 8pm ET / 7pm CT/ 6pm MT/ 5pmPT
    Drawdown Category:  Industry
    Action:  Research Cement Alternatives

Achieving our collective climate goals will require deployment of strategies across all sectors of our economy. Concrete is responsible for at least 7% of annual CO2 emissions worldwide, and is the second largest source of industrial emissions in the United States.

As politicians turn to infrastructure renewal as a key tool for economic recovery post-pandemic, concrete is emerging as a key challenge - and potential solution - to carbon reduction.

Learn more about how cement and concrete influence national emissions and policy proposals and ideas that are being piloted to spur innovation and decarbonize this industry.  Policies can be implemented at the State and Local levels as well, and also support Environmental and Climate Justice Goals.

    Guest Presenters:
Eric Dunford and UU Luke Kimball with CarbonCure Technologies
Eric is Senior Director, Government Affairs at CarbonCure Technologies, a clean technology company and recent winner of the Carbon XPRIZE. In this role, he leads CarbonCure’s regulatory and government relations efforts and is an expert on low-carbon materials policy issues. Based in Toronto, Eric holds graduate degrees in business and science from the University of Waterloo and Dalhousie University.
