To everyone who is sticking with their challenge, whether they mark it or not, :) great job! We're going to need to do more than be vegetarian to stop climate change, though.

Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?

Lily Mae Buerkle 12/21/2019 12:41 PM
I think the fact that richer people eat more meat than others is because different types of meat cost more money. Also, it costs a lot to process, buy and cook the meat, which is why some people might not be able to afford it. Eating lots of meat is unhealthy for the planet and for us- for humans to have a balanced diet, we should eat the same amount, if not more, plants than meat. Also, most of the meat we consume comes from cows- Cows are a big contributor to the release of methane, which is a big greenhouse gas. I think to have a healthier eating style, we should stop eating, or eat less, meat.
