  • Reflection Question
    Food Support Local Food Systems
Dependable fresh food, supporting local farmers and building resilient communities are just a few benefits of local food systems. Which of these (or other) advantages inspire you the most?

    Tyler Lupovici 4/04/2019 12:35 PM
There are multiple benefits from buying from local markets such as your health and supporting the local economy.

Beyond carbon sequestration, what other benefits do forests offer you personally?

    Tyler Lupovici 4/04/2019 7:58 AM
Forest are one of natures purest places in the world and it is a rarity to find untouched ones in this day and age. Forest should be preserved and not stripped for there resources. They benefit the food cycle and many other things that we take for granted

Hey, everyone, I use this notebook called the rocket book everlast and I think everyone at poly should use one because this one notebook never needs to be replaced and all my notes go to my drive. I have seen more and more people use this notebook and I think this is one small step to help us all go paperless.

Hi Tyler. And yes, I have one too, and it's wonderful. My only regret is not buying one earlier. I carry it wherever I go.
  • Reflection Question
    Land Use Forest-Friendly Foods 1
How is your diet currently impacting deforestation? What can you do to decrease your negative impact and increase your positive impact?

    Tyler Lupovici 4/04/2019 7:50 AM
One of my favorites foods beeth is one of the leading causes for deforestation also soy, palm oil, cocoa, and coffee beans are cultivated in areas that were once forests. I could look into where my beef and other products are coming from so that I know that they are not the causes of deforestation or I could cut these foods completely out of by normal diet.
  • Reflection Question

How does environmental quality influence your sense of community?

    Tyler Lupovici 4/04/2019 7:37 AM
Well, the better the environmental quality of a neighborhood the more likely the community will become more lively and start to create a stronger sense of community. If it is nice outside and then there is a nice local garden people will gravitate towards it and people will make friends and help build a stronger sense of community
  • Reflection Question
    Food Reduce Animal Products
In your opinion, what contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other countries? What does this say about North American values and ways of living?

    Tyler Lupovici 4/04/2019 7:24 AM
Consumerism in America is a big problem because people take for granted all the good food we have but in some places, access to meat is harder to find and eating a meatless meal can sometimes be less satisfying. This morning I had hummus and pita chips for breakfast
  • Reflection Question
    Food Learn More about Silvopasture
Had you heard of the term "silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?

    Tyler Lupovici 4/03/2019 7:14 PM
Before today I have never heard the word silvopasture but after learning about it I have found out that it is a very efficient way of providing nutrients from bovine manure to trees. It is a sustainable practice that also increases livestock production and foraging. It is a win-win scenario for the trees and the animals.
  • Reflection Question
    Food Explore Other Food Solutions
What did you find out? What is the most interesting fact you learned?

    Tyler Lupovici 4/03/2019 6:48 PM
In a populated urban environment like drawdown, an easy and affordable way of getting clean food is having roof gardens with covers to protect from wild animals such as pigeons and squirrels. Also, small herb gardens on a window sill can be another easy way to reduce farm produce in a household environment.
  • Reflection Question
    Materials Launch a Recycling Program
How can you take your commitment to sustainable living beyond yourself? How can you, personally, work toward broader change?

    Tyler Lupovici 4/03/2019 6:26 PM
Although being one person you can still make change for example making a social media account on Facebook or Instagram can create a following and influence others to make positive change
  • Reflection Question
    Materials Go Paperless
What do you want to prioritize over material 'stuff' in your own life?

    Tyler Lupovici 4/03/2019 6:16 PM
We like to participate with family and friends in outdoor activities. Especially biking, boating, paddle boarding, etc
