  • Reflection Question
Buildings and Cities Research Heat Pumps
Why do you care about taking action on climate change?

    Joyce Lu 4/25/2018 5:13 AM
As Earth heats up, people across the globe are experiencing more intense rainstorms, severe droughts, powerful tropical cyclones, and extreme heat waves. The natural systems, people, animals, and so much more that we care about are at risk. Losing these precious things is just one reason, among many, to care about the climate crisis.
  • Reflection Question
Electricity Generation Learn More about Biomass
Had you ever heard of biomass techonology before this? What did you learn that surprised you? Share this with your friends!

    Joyce Lu 4/25/2018 1:50 AM
I've heard of biomass techonology. I think it is very interesting that so many things can be used to make biomass. I hope we can find more kinds of biomass to reduce carbon emission.
  • Reflection Question
Buildings and Cities Upgrade My Windows
How does improving your home's energy efficiency help you better live out your values?

    Joyce Lu 4/25/2018 1:37 AM
My family and I can live out more comfortably.
  • Reflection Question
Transport Research and Advocate for High-Speed Rail
What are the factors that influence your choice of transportation? These can include things like money, time, and convenience, as well as perceptions of danger or safety.

    Joyce Lu 4/25/2018 1:35 AM
I think money, time, and safety are most important factors.
  • Reflection Question
    Materials Eliminate Toxic Plastics
What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

    Joyce Lu 4/25/2018 1:28 AM
I always bring non-disposable tablewares with me more than a decade. And I've started  to use stainless steel straw for several years . Next step I will try not to use disposable cups.
  • Reflection Question
    Materials Choose Recycled Paper
How can you take your action a step further?

    Joyce Lu 4/24/2018 10:15 PM

  • Reflection Question
Land Use Choose Better Wood Products
Beyond carbon sequestration, what other benefits do forests offer you personally?

    Joyce Lu 4/24/2018 10:12 PM
Provide fresh air. Beatiful plants, birds, and insects to see.

  • Reflection Question
Food Keep Track of Wasted Food
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?

    Joyce Lu 4/24/2018 7:31 PM
To set up a solar panel system in my house.
  • Reflection Question
    Materials Go Paperless
What do you want to prioritize over material 'stuff' in your own life?

    Joyce Lu 4/24/2018 6:37 PM
    Electronic records.
  • Reflection Question
    Transport Use Muscle Power
How do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience differ while walking, riding transit, biking or driving?

    Joyce Lu 4/24/2018 6:33 PM
Along the way while I walk to office, I can see many birds and squirrels, and smell fresh air, all make me full of energy to start a day.
