Industry

Invite a friend to calculate the carbon footprint of their household

Individual actions are important, but people and organizations working together can make a real impact. I will share a carbon calculator with a friend and invite them to calculate the carbon footprint of their household.

Stay on the Ground

Telepresence, High-Speed Rail

Forests are great places to walk around and enjoy the wilderness, and have great shade. Walking through a forest always feels so relaxing, and is a great alternative to a typical hike.

I like to talk to people about their views on the causes of climate change, as well as what they think solutions are.

What was your process like for restructuring your trip? How can you avoid more air travel in the future?

For in-state travel, it isn't too hard to restructure your schedule, the only real limiting factor is the time it takes to drive instead of taking a plane. The trip we replanned was our trip to my brother's college, Chico State, which is an 8-hour drive. By researching alternatives like trains and similar things, we can avoid more unnecessary flights in the future.

What have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?

I noticed during my walk that there aren't many trashcans at certain parts of the bay, and people tend to litter around there. Adding more trashcans with consistent spacing between them could lower how much people litter.
