Attended a veggie cooking class this afternoon with fresh veggies from Lusher Farms, an LO CSA that uses organic and regenerative agriculture procedures when farming.  Delicious eating!  Had a little rain and hail on my daily walk-lovely winter weather!

Yesterday evening I attended one of the most optimistic presentations relating to climate change presented by Liz Yurkov of Sunshine PDX about Green New Deal Oregon.  This volunteer organization hopes to make significant changes to the reliance on fossil fuels by 2022.

I talked to folks at PGE, NW Natural Gas and Energy Trust of Oregon;  none of these companies/agencies do energy audits any longer.  But they all gave me suggestions on changes I could make to weatherize my home and make my energy usage more efficient.  I visited the tabs they recommended on their websites and learned useful information as well.  I think the first thing I’ll do is insulate the floors on my first stormy:  access from the crawl space is easy.  Having trouble again with this post-can’t navigate in the box to proofread.

I wish our posts were a little more user friendly; ie, allowing us to proofread the entire thought before we need to hit send!  However, this one seems to give more flexibility so maybe the process has changed?!

I visited The Springs at Lake Oswego and Emilee Lathouwers took me on a tour of their 5th floor roof garden.  Trees and bushes are flourishing and residents will plant in 6 lovely raised beds when the weather warms sufficiently.  I also visited their herb garden on the 2nd floor where residents grow herbs for this cooking enjoyment.  Fun visit to an eco friendly  facility

I just hear an intriguing bit on NPR about Canadian singer Grimes who has a new album Miss Anthropocene, a malevolent goddess of climate change based on Roman mythology.  The reporter’s favorite song on the album was Darkseid.  I’d like to hear thought from some of our younger team members?  The speculation is part of the name might relate to misanthropy?
