    Gorillas will win!!! (I hope)
  • Reflection Question
Coastal, Ocean, and Engineered Sinks Learn about Biochar
Can biochar provide additional benefits besides sequestering carbon?

    Gorilla Gabrielle's avatar
    Gorilla Gabrielle 2/22/2021 11:18 AM
Biochar can also provide additional benefits other than sequestering carbon such as using up organic waste that usually releases greenhouse gases, and creating nutrient rich soil for farming.

Team Gorilla rules! I really hope we win.
  • Reflection Question
Electricity Learn More About Geothermal Energy
Geothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. In what ways (i.e. with money, time, advocacy) can you invest in geothermal energy?

    Gorilla Gabrielle's avatar
    Gorilla Gabrielle 2/13/2021 4:59 PM
I can invest in geothermal energy by advocating for it and learn more about it, and what parts of the world are suitable to be powered by geothermal energy.
  • Reflection Question
Electricity Learn More about Wave and Tidal Energy
What did you learn about wave and tidal energy? How do they compare to other energy sources?

    Gorilla Gabrielle's avatar
    Gorilla Gabrielle 2/13/2021 4:52 PM
I learned that wave and tidal energy is renewable, and it is a great power source, though it needs to develop more. This is very efficient since it produces no carbon dioxide and since we have endless amounts of waves and tides, we can harness its energy and it will not harm the environment.
  • Reflection Question
    Buildings Research Retrofitting Incentives
How can you share what you have learned in your research with others?

    Gorilla Gabrielle's avatar
    Gorilla Gabrielle 2/11/2021 11:19 AM
I can tell others to retrofit their own buildings. I can use word of mouth and talk to others to get them to retrofit buildings, and I can advocate for that.
  • Reflection Question
    Buildings Fix Leaky Faucets
What are other easy and low-cost ways to reduce your water usage at home?

    Gorilla Gabrielle's avatar
    Gorilla Gabrielle 2/11/2021 11:09 AM
I can turn off the tap when I am not using it, and shower instead of taking a bath because it uses up less water.

    Gorilla Gabrielle 2/10/2021 6:25 AM
I am happy that Team Gorilla is doing well.
  • Reflection Question
    Buildings Upgrade My Windows
How does improving your home's (or office's) energy efficiency help you better live out your values?

    Gorilla Gabrielle's avatar
    Gorilla Gabrielle 2/10/2021 6:24 AM
This helps because we do not worry about having problems all the time, and we can work on other types of maintenance instead, saving a ton of money.
  • Reflection Question
Coastal, Ocean, and Engineered Sinks Smart Seafood Choices
Many states and countries have advisories on eating fish. Find out what is advised for your region. Do you think your diet choices fall within these guidelines? What steps do you need to take to make sure that they do?

    Gorilla Gabrielle's avatar
    Gorilla Gabrielle 2/09/2021 11:30 AM
I think my diet does meet within these guidelines, since I only eat fish every once in a while, and not too often.
