Do you have any personal connections to a farm or farmland? If so, what are they? What feelings are evoked for you when thinking about declining farmland?

Mary Foster Morgan 4/15/2019 1:53 PM
I am very very sad about declining farmland, and support all local efforts to keep people, esp young people in farming.  I am a member of 2 CSAs

Electricity Generation Choose Renewable Energy or Purchase Renewable Energy Credits
Your utility company is able to tell you your average energy usage. Ask them how your energy usage compares to others in your zipcode, and in your state. What steps can you take each day to reduce your electricity usage?

Mary Foster Morgan 4/15/2019 1:52 PM
I've spoken to them about solar panels, we might have too many trees.

I wrote a blog about what we can all do about plastics, refuse! and only buy/use  new bioplastics.
I'm trying to write a blog a week.

  • Reflection Question

Had you heard of the term "silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?

Mary Foster Morgan 4/15/2019 1:49 PM
Besides sequestering carbon, the animals pastured are treated with respect.

What did you find out? What is the most interesting fact you learned?

Mary Foster Morgan 4/15/2019 1:43 PM
I'm working on a blog about food solutions, the big non-tech solutions  and how important they are. I might just make one whole blog about OnceAWeekRedMeat, and its local sources.  And its effects, outcomes, drawdown
  • Reflection Question
Electricity Generation Watch a Video about Methane Digesters
What does your vision of a sustainable community look like? What would need to be changed in order for such vision to become reality?

Mary Foster Morgan 4/15/2019 1:42 PM
American cow famers want subsidies to perfect the digesters.  Focus on small digesters, as  most dairy operation are under 200 cows.
