    If you live or visit Chicago, consider visiting or becoming a member of The Morton Arboretum in Lisle, IL. It is a 1,700-acre living tree museum founded by Joy Morton in 1922 (founder of Morton Salt and son of J. Sterling Morton, who founded Arbor Day). Its mission is to protect threatened trees in the Chicago region and all over the world through scientific research and conservation. It includes 16 miles of trails bursting with Spring color and lots of outdoor activities! Check out mortonarb.org for more info.
