Reyna Bhandari 4/23/2021 6:58 AMI acknowledge that I have a lot more learning to do about how I can be eco-friendly and help fight the environmental crisis. Thankfully, I have phenomenal friends who teach me something new every day and I have a desire to learn more about the waste that is generated from meat and fish consumption. I used to pride myself on a seafood rich diet rather than eating meat, but I am realizing how harmful eating fish can also be. This challenge has opened my eyes to how a vegan lifestyle can be beneficial for myself and the planet 🌍. Small actions can make large impacts. -
Reflection QuestionCoastal, Ocean, and Engineered Sinks Smart Seafood ChoicesMany states and countries have advisories on eating fish. Find out what is advised for your region. Do you think your diet choices fall within these guidelines? What steps do you need to take to make sure that they do?
Reyna Bhandari 4/23/2021 6:50 AMI watched the Seaspiracy documentary and realized how a Pescatarian diet can be as harmful as a non-veg diet. There is so a lot that I can do try and reduce the amount of fish that I eat so I will try to make sure that I alter my diet choices -
Reflection QuestionAction Track: Healing & Renewal Eat MindfullyMindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How does your eating experience differ when practicing mindfulness?
Reyna Bhandari 4/23/2021 6:42 AMWe live in a society where there are constant distractions and we are usually glued to a screen in one form or another. But when I take my food outside to the park or just sit on my balcony and eat, I find that I enjoy my food much more and appreciate my surroundings. -
Reflection QuestionAction Track: Healing & Renewal More Fruits And VeggiesHow does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet?
Reyna Bhandari 4/23/2021 6:41 AMFruits and vegetables are an essential component of our diet that is oftentimes overlooked. I enjoy eating more of these and less meat because it is not only good for my overall digestion, but it is reducing carbon emissions by not eating as many animal products. -
Reflection QuestionAction Track: Healing & Renewal Explore My AreaHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place -- your deep knowledge of and appreciation for your surroundings?
Reyna Bhandari 4/23/2021 6:40 AMI love spending time outdoors because it helps me slow down and appreciate my surroundings and the beauty around me. Living in different cities has allowed me to notice the differences in the natural geography and how much I crave trees, nature, and the smell of fresh air -
